Foods To Avoid To Lose Weight

In this video, I will tell you 5 types of food to avoid eating when trying to lose weight.

1.) Drinks Containing Sugar:

Most of the refreshment drinks in the market are full of sugar, for example, sodas, sports drinks, and fruit juices, are very high in added sugars but often low in other nutrients. drinking these drinks and juices helps to add calories to the diet however it does not fulfil the criteria of diet food.

The standard recommendation from American Dietary Guidelines is that the calories gained from sugars should not exceed 10 percent of your total daily intake. Which means if you are following a standard 2,000 calories diet, then your sugar must not increase more then 12 teaspoons. 12 teaspoon of sugar contains 10 percent of 2,000 calories.

2.) Baked Foods:

Baked foods, such as cookies, pastries, and many canned desserts, often contain a large amount of trans fat.

A study found that a diet high in trans fats could increase the risk of obesity.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), partially hydrogenated oil (PHO) is the main source of trans fat in baked foods. Removing this oil can prevent thousands of heart attacks and deaths each year.

3.) Fried Foods:

Fried foods, like French fries, are high in calories, salt, and non-healthy fats.

When you fry your French Fries in a deep fryer to give them a crispy texture, it adds a lot of fat and calories from the oil. The bad part is that French fries don’t contain fibre and protein, which are much needed things in any diet.

research was conducted on the consumption of French fries, Which included 4,440 people aged between 45 and 79 years. In the end, researchers concluded that participants who ate fried potatoes at least twice a week had a higher risk of premature death than those who ate them less frequently.

So when you are trying to lose weight, you should select salads, fresh fruits, or pickles instead of fried foods.

4.) Ice Cream:

Ice cream is a delicious treat but, very it is not a healthy one. It has a high amount of calories but a lot of sugar.

If you can’t live without ice cream, consider making your own ice cream, try adding low fat and healthy ingredients like whole yogurt and fruit.

5.) Fast Foods:

Pizzas, Burgers are a very popular fast food. However, commercially made fast food is also not a good choice.

They have very high calories and contain unhealthy ingredients like highly refined flour and processed meat.

If you are a pizza lover like me, you should learn to make one at home. Add fresh and healthier ingredients. Also, you can make your own pizza sauce at home since supermarket varieties can contain lots of sugar.

Last Note:

If you are not sure if the food is healthy or unhealthy, read the label. However, keep an eye out for different names for Chinese and misleading health claims.

Also, remember to consider the size of the serving. Some healthy foods, such as nuts, dried fruit and cheese, are high in calories, and eating too much can be very easy.

You can also practice mindful eating, in which you pay close attention to each bite, chew your food slowly, and keep an eye on your whole being. This technique can help you moderate your diet.
